The role of the fixture

Composition principle

(1) Positioning element

It is in contact with the positioning reference of the workpiece and is used to determine the correct position of the workpiece in the fixture, so as to ensure the relative correct position between the workpiece and the tool and the machine tool during processing. Locating pin 6 in Fig. 6-1.

(2) Clamping device

(3) Knife, guide element or device

The role of these elements is to ensure the correct position between the workpiece and the tool. The element used to determine the correct position of the tool before machining is called the tool-setting element, such as the tool-setting block. (4) Connecting elements

The components that connect the fixture with the machine tool ensure the mutual position relationship between the machine tool and the fixture.

(5) Fixture body
